Overview
Earnings Compass ("we", "us") provides an earnings calendar and research terminal for retail traders. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account data: email address and authentication credentials when you sign up.
- Watchlist & alert preferences: tickers you star and notification settings.
- Usage analytics: page views, referrers, device type, and anonymized session events used to improve the product.
- Cookies: a session cookie for authentication and a preference cookie for theme/UI state.
How we use your information
- To provide the service: authenticate you, sync your watchlist, deliver earnings alerts.
- To improve the product: aggregate usage patterns to prioritize features.
- To communicate: transactional emails (password reset, alert delivery). We do not send marketing emails without explicit opt-in.
Data we do NOT collect
- Brokerage credentials, account balances, or trade history.
- Payment card numbers (handled directly by our payment processor).
- Personally identifying browsing history outside Earnings Compass.
Third parties
We use the following processors:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
- Stripe — payment processing for paid plans.
- Finnhub & SEC EDGAR — public market data sources (no user data sent).
- Sentry — error monitoring (anonymized stack traces).
Your rights
You can export or delete your account data at any time from the account settings. For requests under GDPR or CCPA, email privacy@earningscompass.app. We respond within 30 days.
Data retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. After deletion, we purge personal data within 30 days, except where required for legal compliance (e.g. financial records: 7 years).
Children
Earnings Compass is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We'll post material changes to this policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
